Sustainability

As passionate caretakers of our planet, we focus on transparent traceability by controlling and personally overseeing every step of the supply chain from conservation and farming, to tanning and craftsmanship. Our goal is to better protect what we take out and what we put back into our natural environments, while having a positive impact on the communities in which we operate.

ZAMBEZI GRACE is a luxury accessories group. In the creation of our Nile crocodile-leather goods brands, we combine age-old master craftsmanship and innovative design to create luxurious items in limited numbers. Our integrated supply chain and responsible stewardship promotes environmental, agricultural and manufacturing sustainability.

Environmental Stewardship

Our dedication to protect and conserve nature is a core value of ZAMBEZI GRACE. We aspire to pass on a world as beautiful and abundant as the one we inherited. Thus, we seek innovative solutions to properly utilize and develop our resources. We promote sustainable practices that minimize our environmental impact and insist on high standards of animal health and welfare. We are committed to developing our business in a way that is in harmony with the environment.

Responsible Management

As a leading crocodile leather provider to the largest luxury groups and brands in the world, ZAMBEZI GRACE insists on the highest standards of excellence. We control and oversee our entire process from farming and tanning, to handcrafting. We advocate for a meaningful integration between our three objectives: exceptional quality, environmental and agricultural sustainability, and economic support of rural communities in Southern Africa through job creation and skills development.

Craftsmanship

Our passion for detail, precision and graceful excellence is shared across all the ZAMBEZI GRACE brands. We respect the heritage of time-honored, proven tradition and the accomplished skills of our European master craftsmen. We are committed to preserving these arts through ongoing mentoring and the introduction of the next generation’s craftsmen throughout our supply chain.

Integrity and Expertise

ZAMBEZI GRACE highly values integrity in raw materials and the specialized skills needed to craft its products. Our expertise is unmatched since we work exclusively with crocodile leather. We insist on knowing the origin of all our leather and personally preside over the entire process, from farming and tanning, to handcrafting. All our leather complies with international CITES regulations to ensure the highest standards of animal health and welfare, the social wellbeing of all employees and environmental protection. Our passion for detail, precision and excellence is shared by all ZAMBEZI GRACE brands. We respect the heritage of time-honored, proven craftsmanship and are committed to preserving these arts through ongoing mentoring. At the same time, we are excited to introduce a new generation of fresh, innovative designs that suit both the modern taste and lifestyle of our customers.

Farming and Community

Fine craftsmanship begins with sourcing high-quality, raw materials. ZAMBEZI GRACE is a cofounder of the highly successful Nile Crocodile Conservation Program. The Nile Crocodile Conservation Program provides secure, fair-trade employment and skills-training to more than 400 people from the local rural community, which is otherwise impoverished. As a business, we are committed to local hiring, fair wages, and the training and development of our employees. Our farms on the Zambezi River have returned more than 10,000 crocodiles to their natural habitat and have witnessed the wild population quadruple since the 1970s. Today, the species is alive and thriving (See the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, Nile Crocodile, Crocodylus Niloticus. According to the International Union of Conservation of Nature, the Nile crocodile has transitioned from critically endangered, to endangered, to species of least concern). The upliftment of the local community is a welcome by-product of this conservation success story.
